“What a pity.”
Peng TouSi suddenly uttered after the two of them stared at each other for a long time.
“Of course it’s a pity.” Gramps Ren also said.
Since he already heard Ai Mi speak Chinese, gramps Ren wasn’t really surprised when he heard the large black man also speak Chinese.
Peng TouSi respectfully, cupped his fist in one hand, then gave a deep bow to gramps Ren.
“Thank you elder for your guidance.”
Peng TouSi fist salute was not wrong, he had his left hand over his right hand! He’s a foreigner, but he’s putting me to shame.
Gramps Ren’s looked slightly astonished, “It looks like you have great perception. You’ve only seen me use Yin Yang Sanshou, but you were already able to learn a bit?”
Peng TouSi nodded, then shook his head again.
“I’m ashamed, even though I did understand, my muscles on my body have already formed and are no longer suitable for a profound martial art like Yin Yang Sanshou.”
I remember once when Ai Mi asked Peng TouSi to teach how to fight, Peng TouSi refused and said, “Lin’s body is being forged by another martial art and will slowly grow into the form best suited for that martial art, learning too much will instead be harmful.”
“That’s rare.” Gramps Ren stroked his white beard and sighed, “I have seen many talented foreign fighters, but ones like you, who aren’t greedy and are willing to be content, are few and far between.”
“You’re flattering me. If it was me from more than ten years ago, not only would I have tried every possible way to learn this martial art of yours, I wouldn’t have been able to resist the urge to at least compete with you once.”
Gramps Ren said, “If it was more than ten years ago, maybe I would also want to fight you… unfortunately, it’s a pity.”
“What’s a pity.” Ai Mi interjected, “You guys can just fight again now.”
“Miss.” Peng TouSi explained, “Over ten years ago, I’m afraid that I would have lost when I had just left the underground fight scene.”
“How is that possible.” Ai Mi said incredulously, “The old man was probably already 60 years old over ten years ago, right? Are you telling me, you, the ‘Black Death G.o.d’ of the Russian underground fight scene would lose to a 60 year old?”
Peng TouSi thought for a moment and corrected his previous statement, “No, it’s not ‘I’m afraid I’ll lose’, but ‘I’ll definitely lose’. I’ve only learned to use brute force in underground fights, and my opponents were only people who only knew how to use their muscles to hurt their opponents.”
“This elder, however, can…” Peng TouSi mused, “He can use his opponent’s muscles to hurt themselves. It’s a possibility that I only realized many years later.”
“What’s the use of theory alone, why don’t you have a fight right now?” Ai Mi seemed impatient and wanted Peng TouSi and gramps Ren to immediately have a match to determine the victor.
Peng TouSi replied regretfully, “The elder is now… past his peak. If I could have met him a little earlier, even if it was five years earlier…”
The implication was that gramps Ren was now no longer his opponent. Peng TouSi was not a person who loves to boast, also gramps Ren did not deny what Peng TouSi said.
Gramps Ren seems to be already eighty-one years old. A while ago when he taught me Hua Jin, he had to stop lessons for a few days because of back pain. It would be almost impossible for him to defeat Peng TouSi, who was in the prime years of his life.
Ai Mi did not understand the sympathy between the masters and the loneliness of not being able to fight, but instead said proudly, “After all that, it means Peng TouSi is still stronger, it seems that Chinese martial arts isn’t anything remarkable…”
Peng TouSi rarely interrupted Ai Mi’s words, “Miss, seeing is believing. Although the elder is already old, but I can’t do what he just did. I have already benefited from just being able to see his moves.”
I’m afraid it was the first time gramps Ren has encountered such a modest, sensible, and frighteningly talented foreign boxer, and he couldn’t help but praise him, saying:
“You started with underground boxing, yet your eyes do not contain an ounce impurity. I think you must have crossed between life and death, so your mind and boxing skills have been refined and sublimated as a result… how rare, what a pity.”
“If my family did not have the rule that Yin Yang Sanshou could not be pa.s.sed on to outsiders, if I had met you earlier before your body was fully formed, maybe I could have taught you to become the world’s number one…”
Hearing gramps Ren speak highly of himself, Peng TouSi’s face turned red and he said with modesty: “There are all kinds of experts hidden around the world, there’s not way I would get to claim to be the world’s number one.”
Who’s number one isn’t important, what’s important is why are you blushing? Don’t tell me you don’t regret missing the opportunity to learn Yin Yang Sanshou from gramps Ren, but you do regret not being able to have s.e.x with the young and strong gramps Ren?
But gramps Ren did not realize that he had become the object of Peng TouSi’s fantasies, and he asked in a deep voice: “What’s your name.”
Peng TouSi was as humble as a student talking to a teacher: “My name is Peng TouSi.”
“Oh, the Beatles?” Master Ren mused, “There seem to be quite a few foreigners with that name.”
Gramps, stop pretending when you don’t know what it is, the Beatles are a rock band, okay?
Peng TouSi was not angry at all being called by the wrong name. I guess for him, who has already experienced life and death, his name probably did not matter.
“Um, elder, can you let me know your name?”
“Well, my name is Ren QiShan. Beatles, I will remember your name.”
Ai Mi couldn’t hold it in anymore: “Hey, old man, why do you keep calling him with the wrong name? My bodyguard’s name is Peng TouSi, not the Beatles.”
“Don’t be disrespectful the elder.” Peng TouSi said, “Elder Qi Shan can call me whatever he likes…”
Saying that, a splash of red once again appeared on his dark face.
How scary, Peng TouSi you’re scary. It’s like how you don’t hide your feelings when you call me “Lin”, you’re just directly calling gramps Ren’s name “Qi Shan”?
“What, you’re not called the Beatles?” Gramps Ren was flabbergasted, “Then how do you p.r.o.nounce it, did you give yourself a Chinese name, Peng… Peng TongSi?”
Peng TouSi gave another salute and said, “Elder Qi Shan, you can call me ‘Peng Peng’.”
